Located near the Gleisdreieck metro station, and within the modern Gleisdreieck Park is where you’ll find BRLO Brwhouse, a hip, new, Berlin beer garden and restaurant. The BRLO brand is actually a craft beer brewery that first opened as a pop-up beer garden, where a hipster restaurant was then added onto it, constructed by using 38 old shipping containers on a former railway, to give the beer garden a rustic feel. The restaurant has a main level for more communal dining, and an upper level for those who would like more privacy.
This Craft Beer Container Complex attracts locals and tourists alike, and has a large array of menu options. The head chef, M.D. Ben Pommer has previously worked in fine dining, and caters to all different palates, from meat devourers, to vegetarians, to those who eat gluten-free. His dishes boast a variety of vegetables, prepared in so many ways, like dried and puffed, to kimchi style, to pulled and puréed. You can accompany your vegetables with a sandwich, or with one of the great smoked meats he has on the menu. Try the pork belly, or the 12-hour beef shuck roll, which, you guessed it, spent 12 hours in the smoker. Add one of their 20 tap beers to your meal, and you’ll be ready to enjoy Germany like a German!
Why do people go there? Wide array of beer selection, outdoor seating, and amazing food!
