Housed in what was once part of a former army barracks, House is an effortlessly chic restaurant that combines stylish artwork, beautiful woodland surroundings and comfort food with an innovative twist to create the perfectly unique dining experience. House’s interior is cool, yet understated, with low ceilings, mismatched furniture and floor to ceiling glass panels that flood the spacious restaurant with natural light. The concept of House is to create a relaxing atmosphere that makes guests feel comfortable and at ease as if they were in their own house.
The food reflects this concept with hearty and homely dishes such as pumpkin and sage soup with feta or baked brie with bread to start, and main courses like the bone marrow and steak burger with bacon jam, crispy chicken waffles, and ‘Good Ole Fish & Chips’. The vast menu also includes veggie options, of course, like the ‘BBQ jackfruit sliders’ which are supposed to mimick the flavour and texture of a pulled pork burger, or the ‘Portobello Schnitzel Bun’. You can also choose from a range of ‘skinny’ pizzas and mouth-watering sides such as truffle fries. The dessert menu, a long list of cakes and tarts, is just as indulgent as the rest of the food and not to be waved away!
