Nestled on a busy street in Ho Chi Minh City is where you’ll find Bun Cha, a small, cozy Vietnamese restaurant. Because it accommodates such a small amount of diners (around 20), try to get there at an off-peak time, or be prepared to wait in line! With its incredibly speedy turnover and small portions, you won’t be waiting a long time no matter what. Not only is the food incredibly cheap at Bun Cha, but it is also outstanding when it comes to flavor, as well as well presented.
As the name of the restaurant suggests, the specialty of this restaurant is the authentic bun cha, which is made of grilled pork, noodles, and green vegetables. The restaurant even provides visitors with a little instruction guide as to how to season and combine all the various ingredients. Bun Cha is also a great place to go for a little snack, featuring plenty of side dishes like barbecued skewers, fish balls, fried spring rolls, beef wrapped in guise leaves, and fruity desserts.
Bun Cha is one of the few restaurants located on in the Bui Vien backpacking area that isn’t a tourist trap. It remains authentic to Vietnamese cuisine with its small menu and accommodating atmosphere.
